Distrilog’s three-part plan to implement company fashion as an HR-tool

Distrilog Group is a modern family business who wants to remain among the top firms providing logistics services. A few months ago, they won our give-away of branded sports socks. Even though Distrilog already had corporate clothing, they used their apparel as a practical matter. Winning our give-away did open their eyes to whole new strategies of implementing company fashion. We helped leverage that effective company Fashion by introducing the custom sports socks as an internal and external HR-tool.
Distrilog focuses on efficiency, sustainable solutions, flexibility, and transparency. One by one values that the Belgian company has in common with Sunday. In contrast to our view on corporate clothing.

Distrilog Group: streamlining your logistics.

Distrilog won the giveaway of our branded sports socks on the occasion of our workplace health campaign. A few weeks ago they received their 100 pairs of branded sports socks. Because Distrilog is with more than 1600 employees, the socks are currently a collector's item. Therefore their marketing team worked out a strategy to hand out the socks according to a three-part plan:
- Recruitment at job fairs
- Online recruitment
- Internal give-away
With the slogan: “Een job die je van je sokken blaast.”, they want to trigger students to have a conversation with their recruiters. By adding the possibility to participate in a give-away of the socks, they stand out as a company. Together with the socks, information on future job opportunities were sent to a number of winners.
Next to students, Distrilog wants to attract experienced warehouse workers, drivers, administrative assistants, … . If someone gets hired, they receive a pair of sports socks as part of their onboarding gift package.
Distrilog wants to organize an internal give-away on social media for its own employees. They choose a winner out of the employees that post something nice about work or share a photo/video on their personal socials each month.
Unlocking the full potential
Career fairs are just as crucial as trade exhibitions for displaying your company’s identity. Companies that want to attract the most talented people work hard to impress prospective employees, just as job seekers work hard to get the best offers. Customized promotional materials can significantly raise brand awareness; hence Distrilog used the custom made socks for the best job fair giveaway experience. And of course, current employees should not be forgotten, since custom swag reinforces that employees are team members.
Over a number of weeks, we ping-ponged back and forth to create the final design and completely fulfill Distrilog’s wishes. On their pantone blue sports socks there's a pattern of white icons that express their activities and services. Think of a truck for transport, a forklift, a task list, a container and of course their own logo representing their brand. “It was essential to us that our corporate identity and our pantone blue be incorporated into the design of the socks. Such that Distrilog became very recognizable when worn.”, says Louise De Vliegere, Marketing and Communication Manager at Distrilog.
Distrilog was thrilled that they have won our give-away, since they are now able to experience for themselves the benefits, in addition to the practical, of what company fashion can bring about. Our sports socks are designed specifically for rough usage, where you sweat more than on a regular walk and create wear and tear many times to your everyday use. This is why sports socks are thicker, extra cushioned, and made from moisture-wicking materials with a smart design.

A good company fashion idea in 2022 needs to have a multi-purpose. It should be something that serves a business in many ways outside of the primary reason of just having it. Even though Distrilog wasn’t convinced of branded apparel making a difference next to their corporate clothing, it sure did! No matter what you do when it comes to branded apparel, doing so will help immensely.
“By winning that contest we did see another side of branded apparel. Just think of recruitment employee gifts along with a new hire onboarding, the possibilities are so versatile.” The (future) employees of Distrilog will see that they are more than an employee and as a vital part of the team. Because the more you do to keep your employees happy, the better off the company will be.
