The project
McDonald's says 1 in 8 Americans has worked at the company at some point in their life. To celebrate that enormous alumni community, it built a premium varsity-style jacket: leather sleeves, a wool body, embroidery, and retro McDonald's references. It's priced at $215.
How it scored
Product: 8.1
Leather sleeves, wool body, real embroidery: this is built like an actual varsity jacket, not a branded fleece with a logo stitched on.
Branding: 8.7
The design leans into genuine alumni-jacket territory, retro references and all, instead of looking like typical corporate swag. It reads as something people would actually want to wear.
Activation: 7.6
It's for sale, so scale is naturally capped by price. At $215 that's reasonable for the quality and customization on offer, but a paid drop still caps how far a piece like this can travel.
The verdict
A branded jacket that actually earns the word "alumni." Premium materials and a design that respects the nostalgia instead of just slapping a logo on it.
